berit mogensen lopez, based in copenhagen denmark, graduated from the royal danish academy of fine arts in 2001 with a degree in fashion and textile design.
she has worked in the fashion industry for many years, designing clothes and prints. her collection of handtuftet carpets started her way into the interior business designing textiles for bigger companies.
for the digital prints she uses selected elements from her unique paper collages or from her expressive paintings.

"colors and shapes may resonate in emotions like music.
when i paint, i work out of a restlessness, looking for the beauty in surfaces and color clashes. i like the raw and unpolished and will distort a painting if it becomes too pretty and predictable. it is always about the tension between the controlled and the uncontrolled. the combination of work by hand and working digitally is challenging my process. just as much as i love the immersion and the time consuming by painting and working with textiles, wood and paper, i also enjoy the quick results and possibilities by working digitally".
